Future cars will be equipped with more and more functions to make the interaction between occupants and vehicles more intuitive. Gesture control will be a major part of this trend.
Today drivers can use voice assistants and control different functions via gesture control. Depending on the system it can be realized with:
- Basic IC based systems with discrete Emitters and Detectors to interpret simple gestures (left-right and up-down movements)
- Advanced systems based on 3D-cameras and fast (complex gestures) modulated IR light sources for ToF measurement
